The list of exercises to build wide chest is perhaps endless. If you really want to broaden the upper body, you don’t actually need to work on the chest area. You should better concentrate on the shoulder exercise. The exercise or games to broaden the shoulders actually increases the size of your shoulders which is linked with the size of the upper chest. But one needs to be careful when doing this exercise because the size of your shoulders should be according to your height otherwise it would look very awkward.
Now for the purpose of wide chest, the best exercise one can suggest is push ups. You can do this exercise even at your carpet after getting up in the morning. Almost all the professional body builders do this exercise every now and then. Especially if you would do this exercise on the benches (especially designed for push ups) you would see great results. An exercise called cardio is also very useful in this regard as your breathing muscles (the interior and exterior intercostals muscles) provide the base for your more superficial muscles.
When talking about the exercises for wide chest, how can you forget the butter flies? This is my favorite exercise and I used to complete a set of it on daily basis irrespective of the part of body exercise I was doing. This is not only me, almost every body builders like it. Butter fly performs an important role in increasing the size of your chest and shoulders. When you are trying to build up your muscles around chest, lift as heavy weight as you can. Your intensity should be low with heavy weight. Some instructors suggest only push ups and butter flies for widening the chest.
